A group of SWAT team that arrived in a shabby apartment block with a mission to catch the owner - a drug dealer named Tama king. This block was never raided or even touched by the police before. As a place that is not reached by the authorities, the building became a refuge of murderers, gang members, rapists, and thieves who seek safe shelter. Began acting in the early morning, SWAT group secretly penetrated into the building and control each floor that they climbed steadily.
Ambush when they discovered their movements monitored by surveillance cameras in the building. From his penthouse suite, Tama ordered to lock the apartment building to extinguish the lights and close all the way out. Stuck on the 6th floor with no communication and being attacked by residents of the apartment which was ordered by Tama, the SWAT team had to fight through every floor and every room to complete their mission and survive.
Snippets of the story above is a synopsis or a story from Indonesian movie called The Raid (Serbuan Maut) which is scheduled to begin running in 2012. The film itself has debuted its World Premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, earned high praise and success.
The Raid film directed by Gareth Evans and starring Iko Uwais. Previously, they both really had success with when giving birth Merantau action movie. Besides them, the film is also enlivened by Ray Sahetapy, Pierre Gruno and Donny Alamsyah.
According to Arie Sugantoro who produced this film, in the beginning of The Raid will be circulated in Indonesia under the title Serbuan Maut. But with a variety of considerations, they finally decided to use the same title with the international version. And even more proud, for the international version will be released worldwide next year, music scoring will be handled Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park) & Joe Trapanase (composer Fast Five, Tron Legacy & Dexter Series)!
